My Students
My students love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. The students at my school perform above average on state tests, are making above average year-over-year academic growth, and teachers and administrators work diligently to provide the best learning experiences for its disadvantaged and special education population.
In the learning commons, students are able to explore materials and are fearless when it comes to unfamiliar resources and technology and, as children of the 21st century, they need to be prepared to use a variety of tools to engage their world.
My goal is to give collaborate with our school Art teacher to create a bridge between art and literacy in the school library!

As the school librarian I have worked to curate books and supplies that our students can use to engage in fun makerspace activities.
They will use the maker space materials during library read alouds, makerspace and STEM activities time. Our students will use technology, creativity and their imagination to ask questions, notice details, make predictions, and engage in deep analysis without hesitation.
