Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students in my school love visiting the library on a daily basis. They come as a whole class and also visit individually and with parents. When the students visit the library they get excited for what's to come and love being able to be free to read what they want.

Our school is a Title I school, and almost all of our students receive free lunch.

Many of the students are English language learners who do not have anyone at home to help them with their school work. They look to come to school to get help and use the library as a safe place to come. Most of our population come from troubled homes and they love the guidance and support they receive from teachers and staff at school.

My Project

This year our goal is to enhance our makerspace and create many more projects. The Cricut Maker tools will help my students use a variety of materials to create long lasting projects. Our students will also be creating their own tee shirts and start learning how to sew by creating their own patterns with the Cricut Maker.

These students will be able to learn how to make new things by working together and collaborating on ideas.

These lifelong skills will help them in their future work with others in this school and in years after. These materials will give them a start into thinking about other projects they can work on the materials they can use to make them.
