One of the most powerful and rewarding instructional tools at our fingertips as STEAM educatord and lifelong learners is the usage of creativity in the classroom. My students are learning to use materials to help them with critical thinking skills and be successful in life.
My 3rd and 4th grade students are high performing achievers.
They scored High Proficient on the NJ Ask assessment. They are motivated, creative and always thinking outside the box. Our school has students with amazing minds capable of endless achievements. Due to lack of funding, it becomes very difficult to supply our students with the tools needed to be successful.
My Project
LEGO is the ultimate makerspace tool, given the variety of building bricks available and the infinite combinations that can lead to truly awesome things. This designated Lego Wall in our classroom will be a creation zone. We have found that broadcasting student creations on a wall is a great way to inspire others to want to make and create.
Our Lego Wall will offer a GREAT opportunity for students to collaborate and communicate while they are designing, tinkering and making.
Little engineers will love tackling designs on the amazing wall.
Legos are a timeless classic for creativity, building, and fun. Students have free reign on their creativity in order to build something new and different. They can create whatever they wish with Legos and even integrate those Legos with other materials for their project. Putting Legos on the wall not only is something new and different for our students to experience, but it is also a space saver. Students can build on the wall, creating interesting artwork, simply creating anything new with Legos.
