My students are from a suburb outside of Pittsburgh. They thrive on hands-on learning and technology based instruction. My school has achieved many grants to achieve this goal.
Engagement is a key to success.
If students are engaged and actively participating, they learn better. My students love being a part of their learning. My school begins cultivating a love of this type of learning at an early age. The students will build skill sets necessary for success throughout their school years and whatever path they follow post graduation.
My Project
The Unruly Splats will give the students a very unique classroom experience. The splats are floor tiles that students will code to light up and make sounds when stepped on. Students can create games with the splats that provide a physical activity component to this project as well.
The students will bride the gap between STEM and Physical Education.
They will be able to collaborate with peers while developing 21st century skills such as design thinking, problem solving, and creativity. Through these game they will be active and exercising. They will get this opportunity not just in P.E. or recess but in STEM now as well.
