Help me give my students opportunities to use Science, Math, Technology, Engineering, Art, and more to create projects that challenge them to think and problem solve.
My classroom is made up of amazing students from amazing families. In our room, you will see students of all colors and nationalities and hear them speaking several different languages. Our school serves Title I students as well as many English Learners from all over the world and students with special needs. We also have several special needs students who mainstream into our room, so we truly serve everyone.
My student love to question, dream, build, create, and learn.
They come to school every day ready to be inspired and exposed to great stories, new experiences, new learning. We work hard, play hard, and practice kindness.
We are located in an upper-middle-class neighborhood in the East Bay, but serve kids from all socioeconomic levels and all cultures. However, no matter what my students have or where they come from, they all deserve a chance to learn and be their best.
My Project
Students love making things, with anything! I want to build on their love of creating by guiding my students to think, wonder, design, build, and share anything they can dream of. Using Science, Technology, Art, Engineering, and Math, students will measure, build, design, edit, color, draw, revise and more to build their dreams.
This STEM Maker Station will provide an organized way to give students access to all the materials they need to build bridges, create spaceships, design cars, craft jewelry, and more.
One of the challenges in providing students these opportunities is having all the materials they need to create. Our families will be able to donate things like cardboard tubes, tape, string, fabric swatches, buttons, and more. Keeping all those things at hand would be very difficult in a classroom. But this Maker Space Cart will hold all that and more. Additionally, it will be available for use for any class who wishes to design and build since it is mobile.
First grade students learning about sound can craft their own instruments. Third grade students learning about force and motion can design a catapult. The possibilities are endless! Maker Space time allows students the freedom and independence to create projects of their own design and learn using concepts in Math, Science, Engineering, and Technology. From TK to 5th graders, anyone will be able to access a variety of materials for use in their dreams and creations with this Mobile STEM Maker Station which can move from class to class, helping students dream, design, create, build, achieve.
