Help me give my students a Ramps Balls Exploration set, Design Build Engineering Centers, a STEM Stories Paperback library, and more to create a Maker Space area where they can create and express themselves.
My library is the hub of the school, and I service kids from K-6 as their librarian as well as servicing kids in K-6 as a reading specialist. The library is always crowded and a busy, fun place to be.
As a reading and media specialist post COVID-19, I see so many of my students are behind and struggling in reading.
Some have been struggling for a long time and do not have access to the books they need. Some just need a little motivation to light that spark that will help them to become lifelong readers!
My Project
A Maker Space area in the Library help to provide the opportunity to innovate and create real-world applications for classroom concepts. Students will learn to take failure in stride. A Maker Space area will expose students to new opportunities and
build critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
In short, my students will develop a wide range of 21st century skills.
Students who finish early can have a chance to come to the Library and "create"! This extra incentive will help motivate students to finish their work to be able come to the Library for bonus time, thus increasing their learning!
By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student motivation, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement and creative expression.
Students will have the supplies necessary to create, build and explore!
