Our students are so creative! They enjoy getting to imagine and create their own things in a variety of different ways to demonstrate their learning. Our students come from a variety of backgrounds, which creates a wonderful environment in which our students are able to grow and learn from experiences and one another.
We would love to be able to continue to inspire them to be creative, learn, and grow!
By helping fund our project, we will be able to offer this opportunity to all of our students no matter their background.
My Project
We are asking for donations of trays and wiki sticks to help support a Maker Space classroom. With these tools, each third grade classroom will be able to set up their own Maker Space, so that students will have ample resources to participate in STEAM activities daily or weekly.
This project is fully STEAM-minded.
It involves students working to build, create, re-purpose, invent, and design using resources in the classroom that are high tech and low tech. The project involves critical thinking, engineering, perseverance, creativity, and collaboration. In its initial phase, this project will focus on students using craft supplies to build things, solve problems, work together toward a common goal, and tinker. All of these tasks require students to engage in critical thinking and think outside of the box. This project accesses multiple intelligences and learning styles, while encouraging every child to be successful with science and math in a fun and challenging environment. It is our hope that as this project develops in the classroom, students will begin to interact more with tools and more digital resources that would allow the students to begin to create digitally.
