My students need LEGO style panels and LEGO style bricks to help with their number sense. These materials will help them be creative and collaborative and will support math instruction in an engaging way.
My students are full of energy and life! I have 13 boys and 9 girls in my classroom. They are creative, innovative, and filled with potential. They enjoy activities that involve movement and love learning new content through gestures and songs.
Our school is located in a low socioeconomic area, but that doesn’t stop them from wanting the best and striving for the best in education for themselves.
My students are curious, enthusiastic, and motivated learners. My kiddos are truly AWESOME!
First grade students are expected to learn so much in the course of a year! My students are hands-on learners and they enjoy being creative and making things. Creating a maker space for them consisting of a LEGO wall (stick on baseplates and bricks) will enhance their ability to visualize math concepts.
They will use the LEGO wall to practice math facts, create arrays, practice tens and ones, show time, and create geometrical shapes.
Each math lesson consists of watching a video, using manipulatives, and working on paper, the LEGO wall will serve as a purposeful way for students to show what they have learned while creating.
