Students at my school are creative, passionate and curios and loving. My students enjoy creating a variety of projects, works of art and fun activities. Many times, they shower me with letters and pictures just to say "I love you." My students are passionate. They love learning. They give their all and they are excited to learn the next new "thing." My students are curious. They enjoy exploring and figuring things out. They enjoy sharing their thoughts and ideas. They are not afraid of their individual "creativity." My students are loving. They look out for one another. They help one another. Although their are "differences" among them, they never judge or criticize one another. They see the good in one another and they encourage one another with a pure heart.
My Project
Due to the new drive towards Growing Readers through the use of mandatory "Independent Reading Time," I have found that being able to provide my students with a "special" area in which to drift away into their own worlds is very important.
This product that I have selected will help my students by giving them an opportunity to move away from the mundane routines of sitting at their desks and doing their work.
They will actually be able to look forward to Independent Reading time because they will be able to do something different by getting away from the confines of their desks.
Also, this product is geared toward my ELL students who, in some cases, don't speak English. Having a nice visual right at their feet, will help acclimate them to the various concepts within the class room.
Not only can the carpet be used for Independent Reading time, but it will also provide a space for whole group reading as well as the various small group activities for Math and Reading. The students can gather around the teacher during whole group reading for an exciting read aloud, or, during small group Math and Reading, instead of having to sit on the cold, hard floor, they can relax and be productive on a nice comfy carpet.
