I teach 6th, 7th, and 8th grades critical thinking skills through visual art mediums. Allowing students to create visual artworks helps them to express themselves while building on prior knowledge. It is important for each student shows their unique perspective and opinion through an artistic medium.
Art Foundations 1 and Art Foundations 2 students learn about relief printmaking. Drawing students learn about etching and drypoint. Having the board for the printmaking press would allow for students to create their artwork and run it through the press to pull their print!
These supplies will allow students to experience carving into a printing block and making multiples of an image.
The experience of printmaking is one the students will enjoy and the unique printmaking process will be one that they remember. The students will get real-world experience with the printing press.
