My classroom has 11 students who have cognitive or adaptive deficits and require access to adapted content. These students participate in a variety of academic and life skill instructional activities. Adapted equipment and materials allow for multiple means of expression and accommodate varying physical and cognitive abilities. The children enjoy having access to fun, developmentally appropriate, learning opportunities.
These students, kindergarten through second grade, participate in a variety of fine motor strengthening and visual planning activities throughout each school day.
Last year, I received funding for a project that included some of these materials. Unfortunately, the vendor was unable to fill the request and alternate materials had to be selected. The children still demonstrate a need for Miss Marnie's engaging, multi-sensory writing instruction program. Please help us bring these materials into our classroom.
I have seen the benefits of using these materials in therapy sessions and would like to apply these skill strengthening strategies in small group instruction.
Not only do these videos work on handwriting formation, they offer rich vocabulary and concrete examples that expand the children's communication skills.
