What a joy it is to have young minds be so curious about the world around them! I want my explorers to be knowledgeable in using hand-held technology as an educational tool. I also want them to enjoy the natural world even when inside the classroom, through a variety of hands-on science resources.
I have an amazing group of Kindergartners!
There are 26 of them in the class and all are just excited when it comes to Science. They come from different ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds which also brings diverse and fresh ideas when they all come together. We have a team of dedicated teachers and parents in our school who want nothing more than the best for each and every student.
My Project
My students enjoy exploring nature when we are outside, and they enthusiastically talk about their little discoveries when we get back to the classroom. I want my students to see how mobile technology can enhance their learning. I am requesting a tablet that we can use both in and out of the classroom. We can search for pictures, make graphs, and store our class ideas in the tablet. Then we can bring our tablet outside to take and store pictures, compare what we already know, and instantly research about the animals, plants, bugs, rocks, and anything else we can lay our eyes on. I am also requesting Life-Science and Earth Science Kits, puzzles, and interactive computer games. These will reinforce and enhance my students' knowledge of what they learn from their many outdoor explorations.
Young students learn best when given the opportunity to learn about their world in a variety of ways.
I wish to satisfy my students' curiosity by making it fun, exciting, and using technology to better prepare them for the future. I feel that it is important to have them exposed to the wonders of discovery at their young age. I want them to simply enjoy, love, and look forward to Science. I want them to be inspired and have that lifelong yearning for Scientific discovery and exploration.
