I teach second grade in Burgaw, North Carolina. We are a rural school in a low-taxed-based county. We are a Title I school, which means that we serve a high percentage of students receiving free and reduced-price lunch. This year I teach a transition class, which means that my whole class is below grade level. I love this class because the students are very eager to learn and they love to try new and fun things! However, due to the fact that they are so far below grade level, I have to make each activity fun and engaging so I do not lose the students' attention for even a minute. Then, after I teach a skill, I need to make the reinforcement just as engaging as the teaching itself. For these reasons, I am asking for a Vocabulary Learning Games Library. The students will solve prefix puzzles, match up antonyms, race through the dictionary, and more. These are hands-on games that build skills and reinforcement as the children play! The games can be used independently or as a group. Each game targets a specific vocabulary skill, such as dictionary skills, context clues, multiple-meaning words, synonyms, antonyms, prefixes, suffixes, and homophones. There are a total of eight fun learning games in all. I know my students would benefit greatly from the extra reinforcement this set provides. Thank you so much for helping teachers!
