My students live in an urban area where daily needs are not always met. They live in a low-income area where it's mostly government-funded housing. I am requesting snacks and other classroom materials so that they can focus on making their work come alive as well as so that my students can be successful. I am also requesting basic needs such as soap to keep our hands clean and wall plugins so the classroom smells homey!
I teach in a diverse population of students in a Title I school.
Many of my students are English Language Learners or have a learning disability. Having access to these materials will help them be successful and have opportunities for many great things to grow into adults!
My Project
These materials will make a difference in the classroom! My students come in hungry every single day stating, "I'm hungry. My belly hurts!" and I have nothing to give to them. With no food in their stomachs to begin the morning, making breakfast the most important meal of the day! Having several different snacks such as the fruit snacks, Oreos, breakfast bars, and juice boxes.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and having full tummies at the beginning of the day is important for them to be successful learners!
We are a Title I school where most of these students struggle to have the necessary tools in the classroom every day. As a teacher, I supply these items every year to make sure we have a successful school year! Having access to these materials will help my students' work come alive!
