The students that I have the opportunity to work with this year are creative, energetic, and have a natural love of learning. They love to work with their hands and enjoy having the opportunities to choose activities that allow them to become natural inquirers in their educational process.
These students need to be afforded the opportunity that a well-outfitted MakerSpace has to offer.
In the new economy, 3D printing, laser cutting, and rapid prototyping are skills that will prove not only useful to the gig economy but the traditional workplace as well.
My Project
In addition to the 3D printer for our MakerSpace, we are also wanting to get a vinyl decal cutter. This will not only aid students in creative endeavors but also prototyping for fundraising projects as well as for clubs, programs, and student groups.
Our school is based around international mindedness and learning through inquiry.
The global economy is brought together by maker crafting. Help our students learn that manufacturing is no longer an enterprise held by a large corporation somewhere in the world, but can be right here in their hometown and even their homes. Let's get out there and make things.
