Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is located in Yuma, Arizona. Our students are from diverse backgrounds. Many of our students are considered at-risk and/or come from low-income households. Most of our children have special needs and need special accommodations to support their academics.

My Project

These gift cards that we have requested will be used to reward our students for all their hard work in our classroom throughout the year. We have been working on literacy and learning to recognize keywords along with each child's individual name. The children are doing a great job so far and with a little incentive, we are sure that we will continue to make great strides toward the goal of learning to read. Once the children learn to recognize colors, shapes, and sight words, reading will become easier for them.
