A typical day in my class would be students working independently or in small groups.
Most of the students in my class this year are either ELL's (English language learners) or students with IEP's (Individualized Educational Plans.) They work well when engaged in hands on activities.
We are a high need inner city public school.
My students need more than a text book to gain and retain information, especially in science. These science centers will make the science concepts we learn about in books come to life for my students. The centers will also help prepare the students for the state exam they will have to take in June.
A donation of these science centers to our class will help make learning ideas and concepts that can be rather dry come to life therefore making them become a permanent part of their learning.
