Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our preschoolers here at our school range in age from 3 years old to 5 years old. There is a large number of them who are English language learners. They are also at various learning levels. And they come from a diverse community where most struggle with poverty.
Since last Spring our preschoolers have been learning remotely from home.
During this pandemic, our preschoolers get their education through the phone calls they receive daily from us their teachers. Since they do not have their own tablets, we have to call them through their parents cell phones. Once their caregivers leave for work, our students miss their live lessons and fun interactive activities with their teachers and classmates.
Please help give our preschoolers their own and individual tablets so they can get connected everyday with their friends and teachers. Live remote learning provide our preschoolers with the social interaction they need and miss so much during this pandemic. It enables them to acquire all the necessary academic skills when they are connected face to face with their teachers. And it allows them to stay on track and grow academically.
My Project
Our preschoolers want to get connected live with their teachers and classmates on a daily basis. They want to listen to stories, interact with their friends, see their smiley, sad, or silly faces. Preschoolers love to laugh and learn, sing and dance, count and add. Doing all of these learning activities at home without your friends is very hard for a preschooler.
During the live interactive lessons, the young and busy learners get to socialize and interact with their teacher and friends live.
They answer the open ended questions, they get to ask and inquire, and they discuss the changes they witness in their immediate environment. Most of all, they get the social interaction they miss when learning from home.
