Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
"The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn ,the more place that you'll go."
-Dr. Seuss. Reading is an absolute necessity for success. A strong reading foundation from an early age is the key to a child's overall success in life.
My students are special needs students ranging from grades TK -6th grade with disabilities that range from Specific Learning Disabilities, ADHD, Deaf & Hard of Hearing, Autism, and Other Health Impairment.
My school serves students with diverse economic needs. Since my school does not receive Title I monies, funding extra projects is very difficult.
My Project
My students all love using technology. Having an iPad mini 2 in the classroom would enable my students read books online and take AR comprehension quizzes in the classroom. They would also be able to play fun interactive reading and math games. The iPad would also be used to run some of our school programs, such as the Lexi Core5 Reading program and Math Facts in a flash. After passing a level, the students are rewarded by picking a prize from my treasure chest. Literally, there are hundreds of apps that are designed to help special education students.
By donating to this project, you will be helping my students to learn at their own pace using the latest advancements in technology.
This iPad mini 2 will enhance their reading and math skills to prepare them for the future. Thank you for considering my first DonorsChoose project!
