Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I currently teach students with special needs in a RSP setting. Most of my students are from low-income families with little to no support from home. DonorsChoose will help my students access curriculum in a small setting and small student to teacher ratio.
Most of the students come from an hispanic background with Spanish being their primary language.
Having resources available to the students will allow them complete their homework, projects, and skills needed for today and the future.
My Project
These books will add to our beginning library in our special education classroom. Students will be able to check out books for classroom use and check them out to read at home. These books will show students that reading can be fun when you have choices to choose from. Students can use these books in their language arts class and collaborate with other students on their passion for reading. Along with the encouragement to read, these books will provide parents with a resource when they do not have enough money to purchase new books for their children. Children will have a place to go to.
