This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Most of my students are in their first year of schooling and being away from their families all day long. They are eager to learn and come to school excited everyday! We will be working on a lot of different skills this year within the classroom and we look forward to having a lot of fun doing this. Our classroom is very diverse and we are working on life skills as well as learning new things in our classroom daily.
My Project
Being in a low income school district, I am trying to get as many tools and materials as possible to assure that my students are learning all the time while having fun doing that. We will be doing many hands on and active activities within the classroom. Centers will be huge in our classroom so having multiple activities to help us learn will be very helpful! Being away from home for the first time for long periods of time can be overwhelming for children as well as parents, so assuring they have fun in our classroom is a main goal I have for this year.
