My Students

I am grateful to work at a title 1 school with a wonderful support system. We are a rural school with an awesome group of kids! All of my students are unique and diverse in their own amazing ways.

My students need to be constantly engaged.

Many of my students absolutely love working on-line with 1:1 devices. Others are not allowed to access technology for religious reasons.

I have to meet the needs of both populations all while meeting standards.

My Project

The students and I are enjoying the use of 1:1 Chromebooks this year. As a result, they do a lot of work on these devices. In order to make this technology work for us, we could use some additional items. They need a better way to "show their work" than the old fashioned paper and pencil. My students will benefit tremendously from individual whiteboards that they may keep in their desks. Also, Chromebook touchpads are not very compatible with 10-year-old fingers. Many of my students have trouble manipulating the cursor on the Chromebook. It would make life much easier if each of my students had access to a mouse.
