My Students
Hello!!! We are a k-2 Autistic Support classroom in Philadelphia! As you know as much as the District tries to support and give us all we need, sometimes it just is not possible without using my own money to get what my kids need to be successful in our classroom. We also practice ABA and Verbal Behavior. This program is awesome and is very beneficial to my kiddos. We need a lot of different things to reinforce and use for our sessions. I have collected donated toys from various friends but there are some specific things I am trying to get that would really make our room POP and make it amazing! We also have a sensory room in our school that is truly a blessing and I want to make it even better than it already is.
My kiddos are sweet as pie and love to learn.
We currently have 6 kiddos and we will probably get more. Our room has been through a lot the last year and I am trying to get it back to where it needs to be, so our students can be successful!!!
My Project
The items I have requested are items that will be used to make our classroom the best it can be. I want to make this a classroom my kids feel comfortable and allow them to be successful!
The bean bag is a big item I have been really wanting to get because its something my kids can use when they need to calm down or take a minute to relax, which is very important in a Autistic Classroom.
I also want to incorporate music into my room as well. I think using rhythm sticks, bells and drums will be a great way to teach my kiddos how to follow directions. Music has always been beneficial for all students, especially those with Autism. My kids love to dance and sing already and I know they would love to make their own music.
The ball pit balls and pool is an item I think would really make our sensory POP! I think the kiddos would love it and it would be something that could be used as a reward!
