My students are in 2nd through 4th grade. Our students have low incident disabilities with a wide array of skill sets. We provide age level curriculum modified to their individual needs and life skills instruction to support independence in the school and beyond. Our students are able to access enrichment classes with their same aged peers and other extra curricular activities.
I learn from these students every single day.
They have such unique personalities and always have a smile on their face. They love any activities that are hands on. Especially those involving technology.
Our class size is growing next year, which means that we will need a larger rug to accommodate. The rug will be placed in our classroom library where we promote independent reading and do large group morning meetings to exercise social-emotional learning.
The comfortable bean bags will help draw students to the library area to promote independent reading!
This will become a station during our literacy block and reading buddies will be coming in to read with our students weekly in this space.
The weighted blanket will be used to help students with sensory needs as needed throughout the day.
