My students need basic supplies for our classroom. We need color paper to help students organize important worksheets, assignments, rubrics, and letters home. We need markers & card stock for creative class projects.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are extremely diverse learners with varying reading levels, ethnic backgrounds, language ability, and learning preferences. Nearly all of our students qualify for free or reduced lunch and face many hurdles at home, on the way to school, and after school that they overcome each day they attend school. Our students commute from many areas in the Bronx, some on hour long bus rides to school everyday. Many are employed after school or on the weekend. Many have significant responsibilities at home or are responsible for their siblings.
Despite all of this, our students come to school eager to learn, especially since they receive valuable STEM classes at BAHS.
My Project
As the school year begins, our classroom needs a refurbishment of basic supplies. Many of these supplies assist with the daily running of our classroom such as tissues and Clorox wipes. Other supplies assist with student organization.
Color paper gets students excited about learning.
As many of our students have learning disabilities, color paper serves as an essential tool to differentiate between their various worksheets. Students will also benefit from the large calendar to display assignment due dates, test dates, holidays, and end of term dates
Flip Chart markers and card-stock will allow our students to engage in more creative projects in the classroom like creating time-lines and comics of important events in novels. Our students enjoy these creative projects and they serve as a motivational tool for learning.
