Make More Happy Mistakes in the Ceramics Studio

Help me give my students more opportunities to grow, progress, and make welcome mistakes in their learning of the ceramics process.

My Students

My students are all incredibly creative, yet sometimes misunderstood. Creating helps them express the way they uniquely feel and see the world. Ceramics, specifically, is a tangible opportunity for them to express and release. I find they have therapeutic and aesthetic experience through working with clay.

My Project

The students I work with sometimes have issues with their tactile and fine motor skills, which causes them to make lots of mistakes on their projects. While making mistakes can really help their learning process, it also damages the clay, which can be quite costly. A pugmill, or a clay recycler, would help us recycle any damaged clay! This would help students feel less pressure and ultimately have more opportunity to progress in their ceramic skills. It is an expensive item, but in the long run it will allow more kids to have more opportunities with ceramics! It will help a little clay to a long way!
