This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I recently returned to the classroom as an English Language Interventionist Teacher. I teach in a tittle 1 school. Despite entering the classroom in the middle of the semester, my students have welcomed me with an open heart. I help and support 75 students in kindergarten though 3rd grade. After being in the classroom for 3 months, all I can say is that I have some of the most hardworking and loving students. All my students are learning English as their second language. Learning a new language is challenging, can be stressful, and difficult but that does not stop my students from being ready and excited to learn.

Learning English as a second language can be difficult and not having the right supplies makes learning even more challenging.

We need supplies that can be use in our everyday learning. I am asking for whiteboards that can be use during small group time. We need pocket charts to display our word work and make our vocabulary words visible. I need the giant magnetic sheet to give my students a clear visual on how to write different types of genres. Students needs large visuals and hands on material. With the different color paper, I can make and provide each student with hands on activities. The color paper will also help provide each student with a leveled reading book they can take home. Please join me in making learning English interactive and fun.
