My Students
I have a great group of kindergarten students this year with big ambitions. Some of them came to kindergarten with a preschool background and some of them came to me without any schooling but all of them have a desire to learn! My hope is that, with direction and guidance, they can all have a bright future!
My students come from a very small, high-poverty town where there is not a lot for them to do.
Many of them come from low-income families and some have little to no access to technology at home. For some of them, school is their safe place and the only environment where they feel loved.
My Project
In order to integrate learning and technology in my classroom, I would like to have three iPad and Osmo sets that I can use for small groups. I would use these to reinforce math and literacy skills that we are currently working on. As I am teaching a small group lesson, they could build words or add numbers together but would also be able to practice independently as I move on to the next student.
Many of my students haven't been exposed to much technology at home and this would allow them to experience a different form of learning.
Through the use of this technology, they would also be increasing their knowledge in a fun and exciting way.
