This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I want to create a vibrant learning evironment that will inspire them to learn. I plan to create a collaborative, interactive, and supportive learning community. I want to instill in them a love of learning. I will be a first-year first grade teacher in 2019-2020.

My students will come from all walks of life but predominantly from low income, challenging environments.

Education is the key to overcoming many of life's challenges. I am hopeful that our classroom will be a place of refuge.

My Project

These materials will create a flexible learning environment. It will allow my classroom to fit the needs of each student. They will be able to f find a work area that is beneficial for them instead of being tied to a desk.

Computer applications for reading and math are fun learning tools.

The noise they create in the classroom can be distracting for peers who are not using technology. These headphones will help to create a quieter learning environment so everyone will be able to learn.

My goal as a teacher is teacher a learning space that is conducive for learning. Being organized and having tools for every activity is essential in creating this space.
