My students need a projector so that I can display work in the front of the class on the white board so that I students can view what we are working on.
Children need many ways to access material that they are learning. With a projector and cart, I will be able to blow up activities and lessons in a way that all children will be able to view easily while they are working at their desks.
I am a third grade teacher and at public school I've been teaching at for over 15 years.
I've seen many changes in our urban school. Test scores have gone up, administrators have improved the overall physical and academic appearance of our campus. We are in a very urban, somewhat industrial area where most students are receiving free/reduce lunch. Our school recently received an extensive remodel including many high tech upgrades but due to extreme budget cuts we are left with a beautiful campus but limited ways to access our technology. Technology has created many ways to teach children today. My school, in the heart of an urban area, was recently renovated including 42" flat screen TVs but in light of state-wide budget cuts our students haven't been able to access our state of the art technology components.
My Project
Having a projector and cart in my classroom will aid my teaching in many ways. The projector will be stationary towards the front of the classroom where all children will be able to view whats being displayed with ease. Whether it be a math concept, writing lesson, or something that we are reading all together, all children regardless of where they sit in the classroom will be able to see what is in front of them by connecting the projector to a document camera or laptop.
This projector and cart will have enormous impact on my ability to deliver teaching instruction to my students.
Being able to display and enlarge teaching material to students while they sit at their desks will improve the quality of what they produce.
