My students need their very own 3D printer! With our own printer we can delve into deeper projects and advanced modeling skills that will create curiosity and require problem solving from these young motivated minds!
We are in a small town on the coast, where we don't have the exposure to some of the amazing science and tech tools that are out there - I want these kids to see, hold and experience these things that will be part of their everyday adult life, now, when they are in the early stages of school.
These kiddos are engaged with STEM learning and they are ready to take their technology use to the next level.
They are excited by the sciences and the connections they make in their learning.
After a week of training this summer, I borrowed some printers from UMO and brought them into 1st grade where they created 3D files of their sight words. The kids and teachers were thrilled, and I hope to offer them more!
With our own printer we can delve into deeper projects and advanced modeling skills that will create curiosity and require problem solving from these young motivated minds!
I am confident that this skill will be prominent in the future and am eager to deliver the possibility to learn it now to these students. I can't wait to see what they create!
