Help me give my students a Cricut Maker to explore their creativity and give them the power to design their own incentives for positive behavior and hard work.
Our school's motto is "Soar to Excellence" and our students embody that motto. They take pride in their work and their school because of our caring, safe and positive school community.
I teach in a Title I school with students from diverse backgrounds.
They come to school with smiles on their faces, eager to learn each and every day, even though many come from families struggling to make ends meet. I strive to provide them with a fun and safe learning environment, doing all I can to make sure their needs are met. We are a community of learners, working together to ensure everyone succeeds.
My Project
I am requesting a Cricut Maker Machine, Cricut Tools, and a Cricut Heat Press to provide the students at our school with an opportunity to get creative with projects and make personalized incentives as rewards through our PBIS program. Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a proactive approach to establishing the behavioral supports and social culture needed for all students in a school to achieve social, emotional, and academic success.
Since we have implemented a school-wide PBIS program 6 years ago, we have documented proof of improved student achievement, reduced suspension and referral rates.
The students work hard to earn Soaring Slips that can be turned in like money to buy items from our School Store. The more tickets they earn the better the reward. These incentives help to keep our students engaged and reinforces positive behaviors.
A donation to this project will give students an opportunity to explore their creativity and design their own personalized incentives to work towards, such as t-shirts, stickers for their water bottles, labels for their school supplies and so much more.
Additionally, it will help our Pre-K through grade 5 students to continue to "Soar to Excellence"!
