This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are not provided with the support and resources they need and deserve. They are very eager, energetic, and fun kindergartners who want nothing more than to succeed in the classroom and build the foundation they need to be successful in the school years to come. I am a kindergarten teacher in an impoverished urban area.

I am lucky to work with children at every different developmental level!

I am able to see real growth and change almost daily! This is what I love about working with kids this young!

The students in my class are unique! Each child has different interests, abilities, social-emotional growth, and academic strengths. Some of my students are learning to read, write, and count, while some of their classmates are learning to regulate their behavior and monitor their personal successes.

My goal is to highlight their personal strengths and success within the academic and social setting.

My Project

I have a classroom full of creative five and six-year-olds. Being young learners, they need plenty of fine motor work to get those little fingers ready for writing.

My students are always eager to practice their fine motor skills through engaging, hands-on activities.

Through the use of these fun magnetic boards, students can practice these needs skills.

We then take these fine-tuned skills and use them to write! Students brainstorm every day and share their stories through their illustrations and writing. We would love to have journals that can be used to collect this writing and keep it all in one place!
