My Students

My kindergarten students walk into our classroom ready to learn and full of excitement. It is my job to make sure they not only pass all concepts on the kindergarten report card, but they are able to retain the knowledge and become lifelong learners. Besides learning reading, math, science, and social studies with books and manipulatives, my students participate in learning centers and intervention groups to help with letters and sounds. They use many manipulatives to accomplish all goals and they have fun learning at the same time!

My Project

My kindergarten students will use the Lakeshore Counting Cones to develop their skills in numbers, counting, and one-to-one correspondence. They will use the Numbers to 100 Match-Ups to identify different representations of quantities to 100. By doing so, they will develop skills in place value and number and operations in base 10. They will use the Farm Animal Counters, Butterfly Counters, and Prehistoric Animal Counters to help with counting, comparing, sorting, patterning, and solving addition and subtraction word problems during learning centers during our thematic units in our kindergarten classroom.
