Ms. Flowers from New York NY is requesting Technology through DonorsChoose, the #1 classroom funding site for teachers.

Make it Come Alive with a Projector!

My students need a projector in the classroom so that I can utilize technology to enhance their learning and understanding of concepts taught.

My Students

How cool would it be if my third graders were able to use technology in the classroom every day to watch educational videos, see their very own work come alive, follow lessons, and get instant feedback on their work? When resources are lacking, it becomes almost impossible to do these things.

My third graders are an excited bunch of students who are eager to use many types of resources to help them learn.

They attend a New York City Charter School, and unfortunately, they do not have access to technology to assist in learning. Many of my students are visual learners. When I am teaching, having the option to "show" and not just "tell," can mean a world of difference to most of them. They love to share their ideas, their work, and teach their fellow classmates the steps they may have taken to master something taught. Having a projector in our classroom would allow us all to be teachers and learners, and give my third graders an additional way of learning.

My Project

If we are able to use technology in our classroom, it would allow us to do so many things! Having a projector would allow us to watch videos connected to our learning topics, and follow lesson plans created. Students will be able to share their very own work, and use visuals to enhance their understanding of a topic being taught.

Technology will give my students the opportunity to learn in alternate ways.

There are many types of learners in our class. Having a projector would allow me to tap into the minds of the visual learners and give others another way of understanding a concept being taught.
