Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work with elementary students that have visual impairments. They are in a regular classroom and want more than anything to fit in with their classmates. My students receive a lot of services and get pulled out of their class often. I'm always looking for ways for them to participate in activities with their classmates.
My students want to participate with their peers in the classroom and on the playground.
They need a little extra support in order to do so.
My Project
My Students need large screen monitors because the ones they are currently using are too small and they have a hard time seeing what is on the screen, likewise they need large print keyboards. My Students would also benefit from Ottlite task lamps; the full spectrum light makes it easier for them to see in their classrooms that are often too dim. My students need magnifiers to enlarge and be able to read worksheets and text books.
These supplies would help my students see better and would help them feel more confident in class.
My students would really benefit from these items, they want to be able to do the same things their classmates do.
