My Students

My students are eager to learn. They work really hard in my classroom and work to overcome obstacles that they face. Each of my kids are individuals and special in their own ways. They teach me daily. I especially like they way we impact each other and learn together.

Finding stories that can connect History to English and engage students can be challenging.

I like to look for books, in which my students can become engaged in. My students will be able to connect with the story of a teenage boy, while applying his experiences with their own.

My students will be able to connect their own life experiences with that of the main character in the book I have chosen. I want to help them experience History in a real and meaningful way.

My Project

I am asking for funding for a class set of books that will help the students understand and live History. I teach a blended History/English class and these books will help my students live through the founding of the James Town Colony.

We will use these books, year after year, as I plan to continue teaching and pass on knowledge to my future students.

I will use these books as an English reading source while we are studying early American history. This helps me blend the curriculum and strengthen my students reading skills and understanding of American History. My students will also be able to build a connection between the story of a young man in colonial American.
