My high school, MHS in Daytona Beach, is a Title I school. That means that the majority of my student population is low income. As the funding continues to be cut, my ability to provide wrestling gear, transportation to events, fees for competitions, etc is diminished and the students are unable to pay to play. Your support directly impacts that. You can help my teams by providing a greatly needed contribution to MHS today.
Here at MHS, we are in year 2 of a co-ed wrestling team.
Girls wrestling is one of the fastest-growing sports in the country and we are tapping into that interest. Wrestling is a sport that does not discriminate on the basis of size; it is the harder worker who will win every time. Several of our graduates have recently completed boot camp and are excited to see the growth of the team. The team is very diverse and the students are forming life long bonds while staying healthy.
My Project
I have done a few donors choose projects for my 2nd year wrestling team. However, the team is expanding faster than I anticipated. I work at a Title I school so most of the students struggle with providing equipment to participate safely so the team provides it for them. However, this equipment is not cheap. Due to the growth, we are ordering more headgear in the middle of the season.

This year we are hosting 4 home events for the first time in almost 3 decades. We are very excited to compete in front of the home crowd and show off all of our hard work. Thank you!
