This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Welcome to Kindergarten! My old but homey classroom is home to 32 bright eyed beautiful students. Our school is an island of safety and hope in a neighborhood that suffers from crime and gang violence.

Realizing that my students' families cannot afford school supplies, I provide many items for the classroom myself. I shop garage sales and thrift stores to find fabulous items for my classroom. I would love to have something new and exciting to offer this year!

I am asking for two mail box shelves so that each of my students can have their own slot. I am confident that they will be excited to write and receive mail. What a wonderful way to use their new found writing skills to build a strong classroom community!

I appreciate your willingness to help create a special place for learning in an otherwise chaotic world. Your help is means so much to us. Thank You!
