My Pre-K students are social, caring, and busy. They come in each day ready to participate in our activities and experiences. I want them to know that we are a community of learners and that each one of them is an important part of our class. Together we are there to grow and support each other.
I teach at a Title I school in Oklahoma where 100 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
Each student is unique and my goal is to build on their strengths to instill a love of learning that will follow them throughout their school career.
My Project
I am so excited to add depth to our small group math time. As a teacher, the ability to engage with students in a smaller setting is ideal. I am better able to demonstrate, provide practice activities and check for understanding when I am working with smaller groups.
Making available the math activities, manipulatives, and software in this project will provide tools for each child to advance their math skills.
The counting, patterning, and shape software will allow one group to be independently engaged with technology during group time. Other children can be working with a teacher while still others are working independently or with partners using math tubs.
