As a teacher in a low income school district, I know that my students come to me from all walks of life. They are a very diverse group bursting with energy, excitement, and fun. The amazing thing is that all of their unique differences help them come together to build one fantastically unique classroom full of respect, love, collaboration, and friendship.
This year I have been blessed with a wonderful group of kindergartners that are bubbling over with enthusiasm, determination, and perseverance.
They go into every activity with an open mind and a desire to do their best. As an AVID school, we really focus on having a growth mindset that helps us stay positive and to keep trying at the things we haven't mastered yet. Because in our classroom we know that success happens through lots of hard work and lots of trial and error!
My Project
My students are just beginning to discover their love for reading and what better way to inspire that love than through magazines!
My students love receiving things in the mail and now every month we will have new reading materials to add to our classroom library.
We will get to learn about new animals, exciting places around the world, meet new characters, and use our imaginations! These magazines will also be a great addition to our Science and Social Studies units.
We can't wait to start our year off with new and exciting reading materials that will grow our imaginations and take us to places we never dreamed existed!
