I teach in a low-income, high poverty school where my students are faced with challenges both in and out of the classroom. We try our very hardest here at our school to make sure that our students have the same opportunities and resources as any other student their age might have.
One of the best ways for early childhood age students to learn is through hands-on experiences and play.
My students are eager to learn and they learn so well through active engagement.
In our class we do a lot of building. It incorporates math and fine motor skills into purposeful play! My students played with a set of magnet blacks and they LOVED them. Unfortunately they did not belong to us, so we had to give them back.
I would LOVE to surprise them with our own class set for them to play and explore with!
The objects in this project include magnetic "blocks" and pattern blocks. Both of which are excellent for young minds and learning! We would use them in centers and during math lessons for hands on learning that is fun and informational!
