Magnetic Word Work

My students need magnetic letters to build words to help them with their phonics. The majority of my special education students are reading below grade level and need to physically manipulate letters to help them read.

My Students

I have a wonderful group of 4th grade students that come from low income backgrounds. About half of my class is Special Education students. The school that I work in does not have the resources and the money to purchase things such as manipulatives and materials that the kids need to help them show more progress. They are good kids that want to learn but need these extra tools to succeed. I am looking for some donors to help fund some supplies to create a deeper concrete understanding.

My Project

My students would use these magnetic letters to physically manipulate words and work on their phonics. Half of my students are reading below grade level and it is my dream to get them materials like these to get them to show more progress. Although I teach 4th grade some of my students are reading at a 1st grade reading level and they desperately need tools like these to help them learn. With these letters I can physically show them patterns, chunks, and sounds in words to help them both read and write. I want a classroom full of interactive reading and math materials and these would be a great asset to making that reality come true.
