The pandemic has hit us unlike anything that we've ever seen. Schools, businesses, and parks have all closed down leaving children nowhere to go to have fun, especially in urban areas.
I teach at a Title I school in Knoxville, TN.
We have around 100 kindergartners who are almost all free or reduced lunch. The neighborhood loves their teachers, so let us show them a little love back.
My Project
Since the students will not be able to share resources at school or home, they will be able to use these scribble pads at home to practice high-frequency words, letters, number, shapes, and drawings... the sky is the limit. These can be used to practice math, writing, reading, science, and social studies concepts. The learning literally never has to end with these magnetic scribble boards!
Students will need something to practice with at home... and often times, pencils and paper are hard to come by.
These magnetic scribble pads are here to save the day.
One example of how the students could use these during a lesson would be during spelling. The teacher could show the students the word "cat" and ask the students to practice spelling that word with their magnetic scribble pad. Then the teacher could say, "Now try to spell the word 'mat' by changing one sound from the previous word."
Another example of a lesson would be where the teacher makes letter sounds and the students have to write the correct letter on their scribble pad.
