I have a fabulous group of inquisitive and eager first graders who come from a wide range of experiences outside of school. I try my best to provide innovative daily activities to engage and stimulate them.
My suburban school is located in a wonderful area where most students walk or ride their bikes.
The neighborhoods surrounding the school are full of lovely, caring families who put great emphasis on their child's education.
A day in my classroom consists of whole group and small group work as well as time rotating through stations where they are working on iPads, journaling in both math and language arts, and partner activities. It makes for a very busy day but it is important to me to provide the best learning environment for my students.
My Project
These materials will make a huge difference in the classroom learning environment during our word study activities each day.
My school district has recently implemented a new system that provides a way for students to explore how oral and written language work.
I want to allow my students the opportunity each day to explore letters and words to help them build their confidence as readers and writers. In order to do this, I want to provide each of them with their own set of magnetic letters and a magnetic dry erase board to manipulate the letters into words.
By utilizing these materials daily, it will encourage my students to make life-long connections to the English language!
