My Students

My students are awesome preschoolers with some special needs. They are mostly on the autism spectrum, and so while they are working on learning pre-K skills, it helps them to have some supports to make it easier on their busy bodies.

My kids work so hard all day to meet their goals.

They are sweet and fun, and love coming to school to learn and play with all their friends. They love to sing and dance at circle time, and they really enjoy listening to stories. They make some beautiful artwork, too!

My Project

My students are mostly pre-kindergarten age, and letter recognition and phonics will be very important for them next year in kindergarten. They are very interested in letters right now, but while we do have some magnetic letters, many are falling apart, and it is difficult to find the ones we need because they are all jumbled together in one bin.

My students learn best when they have concrete materials they can touch and manipulate, which is why these magnetic letters and alphabet sound bins will be great tools for them.

They will be able to explore the placement of the letters, as well as switch one or two out to see how to make new words. They will also have an easy storage system to keep them neat, as well as help them with matching. The sound bins will also help them identify initial sounds, and reinforce category sorting.
