Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students come from a very low income area. School is a safe place for them and a place where they can go learn and have fun. Many of these kids don't have safe areas to play. The majority of them come from single family homes.

These neighborhoods contain all sorts of factors which affect these kids' lives including violence and drugs.

These kids really enjoy coming to school and love all the resources we can provide them with. Many of them come to school almost an hour early and stay as long as they are allowed.

My Project

This project will make a difference to our students because it will provide them with a new resource that they can enjoy and be proud of. Many of the materials and resources we have are used or second hand. New materials give our kids a reason to come to school and have fun while learning. This project will provide our kids with a great resource that can be used on a daily basis. These materials will help advance their academic careers by providing them with new resources.

These Magna-Tiles will be used daily by our kids.

They will help teach patterns, colors and all types of shapes that can be manipulated.
