This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Welcome! UTK is a special place to be! I am so lucky I get to spend my days watching these little ones discover and learn. My students need Magna-tiles help them explore math and engineering concepts. Creative exploration with Magna-tiles encourages learning with curiosity, problem solving and engineering concepts. Students will learn basic engineering skills as they use Magna-Tiles to build a variety of simple and complex 3-D structures. Using Magna-Tiles helps to build connections in the brain and encourages the development of mathematical skills.
Central Elementary is located in City Heights, above the hustle and bustle of the geographic center of San Diego.
Education is very important to our thriving, multi-cultural neighborhood. Many new immigrants find their first home on American soil here. Eighty-five percent of students are English learners with non-English speakers in the home. Children are given many opportunities to use their language and develop proficiency in English. Your donation can help build mathematical and engineering skills and understanding!
