This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students learn best when they get to work with materials in their hands. Most students at our school do not have any prior school experience and for most Kindergarten is the first time they'll be in a regular school setting. Therefore many students come in with minimal to no knowledge of numbers, counting, and other math skills.

My goal with this project is to empower and build students' knowledge with all these numbers and counting games.

They'll work on being able to identify, represent, and write their numbers 0 to 20, count to 100, learn and explore shapes and patterns, and learn to solve and create simple addition and subtraction. Students will get to use these games and activities during math centers with a small group of friends. Students will get a hands-on way to practice and learn their numbers, counting, and other math skills in our classroom.
