My Students

My students come from low-income to moderate-income families, where about 50% of students receive free or reduced-rate lunch. Our school is located in a middle-class area, however, not all students can afford the materials that they need to be successful in the classroom.

I teach fifth-grade students in math, science, and social studies.

They are in a real deficit when it comes to technology. They do not know how to properly use technology, and it would benefit them a lot.

I teach over 60 students every day, along with the 15 plus students I teach in the after school program. These chrome books will last many years and change the lives of over 300 students.

My students work so hard but are constantly overloaded with papers and it becomes very unorganized, my goal is to help them be successful in and out of the classroom!

My Project

These Chromebooks will make a difference in my students' learning because it will gain them access to the world that we live in. Technology is so prevalent in society nowadays, and my students barely know how to use Google Classroom. With these Chromebooks, my students would have access to all of their work and notes wherever they go, and it will save my classroom 20,000 paper copies each year that can be very wasteful and harmful to the environment. So, to recap, in about a 5 year span, these chrome books will save 100,000 pieces of paper and 15 trees! I’m hoping to start a domino effect and show the benefits of a paperless classroom!

I will utilize Google Classroom, and math fact fluency games to get the students ready for the day each morning.

They will be able to become comfortable with technology and help save the environment at the same time!
